They took me from my holiday (re: Madeleine McCann).

| August 10, 2008 at 09:24 am

Caroline Gammel, WA Today, Australia.

Is there is no end to the despair suffered by Gerry and Kate McCann? Fifteen months after their three-year-old daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment at the Ocean Club resort in the Portuguese village of Praia da Luz, she is yet to be found. So often their hopes have been raised only to be cruelly dashed. Their daughter has been “seen” at a petrol station in Morocco, in the Maltese capital, Valetta, at a restaurant in the Belgian town of Tongeren, and in Cartagena in the south of Spain. But despite a lengthy international police inquiry and global publicity, no clues to her possible whereabouts have been uncovered.

Now, newly released secret Portuguese police files have provided information that can only deepen their anguish and increase their frustration at what appears to be a series of missed opportunities and a catalogue of failings in the hunt for their missing daughter. (more…)

Madeleine McCann ‘was snatched by paedophile ring to order’

| August 7, 2008 at 09:24 am

British police were told that Madeleine McCann was snatched by an international paedophile ring which photographed her three days before she vanished, police files have disclosed.

An email sent by the Metropolitan Police a child abduction ring based in Belgium placed an order for a

According to an email sent by the Metropolitan Police a child abduction ring based in Belgium placed an order for a “young girl”.

Three-year-old Madeleine was spotted while on holiday in Portugal by someone connected to the gang who took a picture of her.

The photograph was sent back to Belgium where the paedophile ring agreed that she should be abducted, the email states.

Three days later on May 3rd last year Madeleine was taken from her family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve while her parents ate at a nearby restaurant.

The astonishing revelation supports Kate and Gerry McCann’s long-held theory that their eldest child may have been taken by a child smuggling ring.

The email, sent by an intelligence officer on the Met’s vice squad on March 4 this year to counterparts in the Portuguese and Leicestershire police, marks a significant development in the case of the missing girl.

Just last month Portuguese police closed their investigation and cleared the McCanns of any involvement in their daughter’s disappearance.

The email was revealed for the first time in police files made public this week. (more…)

‘Pedophile-free zone’ laws may have to go

| August 6, 2008 at 02:22 pm

Laws that were passed locally that restrict where convicted sex offenders may live may soon be coming off the books.

In a case involving two southern New Jersey towns that attempted to restrict where convicted sex offenders may live, the Appellate Division of New Jersey Superior Court recently struck down a municipality’s right to enact those type of regulations. The case involved the municipalities of Galloway Township and Cherry Hill.

The challenge to the municipal laws was brought by individuals who were impacted by the restrictions. The judges rejected those towns’ laws that prohibited convicted sex offenders from living within 2,500 feet of any school, park, playground or day care center.

The three-judge panel found that New Jersey’s Megan’s Law was “pervasive and comprehensive” and should be the only law that dictates sex offender registration, notification, reintegration and rehabilitation. The Manalapan Township Committee is scheduled to open a discussion at its next meeting about whether Manalapan needs to rescind an ordinance adopted in 2005 that restricts where convicted sex offenders may live in the community and the amount of time they may “loiter” in one place. Convicted Pedophile Sues AmEx For $4 Million

| August 2, 2008 at 12:20 pm

by Carey, consumerist.com - Meet James Colliton, a disbarred corporate lawyer who served 19 months in jail after bribing a mother so he could sleep with her 13 and 15 year-old daughters. Colliton recently sued American Express for $4 million, claiming that he was captured because the credit card company told authorities that the fugitive gutter-cretin was signing for hotel rooms in Ontario.

Colliton insisted he wasn’t running from the law and had gone to Canada only to attend some harness races.

“You’re not a fugitive if you sign into a major chain hotel using your driver’s license and your American Express card,” he said.

In his suit, filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Colliton says Canadian authorities would never have “falsely arrested” or “unlawfully detained” him on immigration charges if American Express hadn’t revealed when and where he had used his credit card. (more…)

U.N. grants status to homosexual-rights groups

Opponents fear loss of sovereignty, ties to pedophilia advocates

by Matt Sanchez, WorldNetDaily - The U.N. recently accorded two homosexual-rights groups “consultative status,” raising opposition from pro-family advocates who see the move as a weakening of national sovereignty that could result in lowering the age of consent for homosexual sex.

U.N. watchdogs also cite homosexual-rights groups’ historical alignment with organizations advocating pedophilia.

The U.N.’s Economic and Social Council, the organ facilitating international cooperation on standards-making and problem-solving in economic and social issues, has accepted COC Netherlands and the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transexuals and Bisexuals of Spain.

This “means we can join the efforts at the U.N. to address human rights violations against people with an alternative sexual orientation or gender identity,” said Björn van Roozendaal, COC Netherlands international advocacy officer. (more…)
