Counter Pedophilia Investigate Unit

The National Native Children’s Trauma Center (NNCTC) at The University of Montana and its partners recently won a $3.2 million grant to apply cutting-edge research to the problems of child abuse and neglect in Indian Country.

The award is one of five such grants in the nation from the Administration for Children and Families, a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The work will benefit at least three reservations in Montana during the next three years, bring pilot programs to three more reservations elsewhere in the nation, ultimately serving as a model for similar work throughout Indian Country. (more…)

A pedophile with a decade-long history of child sex offences will undergo further psychiatric assessment before he can be released from jail.

Mark Trevor Marshall appeared at the South Australian Supreme Court on Friday, after the Director of Public Prosecutions applied to review his planned release under supervision.

Marshall was jailed indefinitely in 2009 after a string of convictions dating back more than 10 years. (more…)
