A Utah couple’s three-month-old was suffocated to death while sleeping in bed with his parents. It gets worse — this is the SECOND child to die in their bed! The doctors warned them not to co-sleep!

The Utah Court of Appeal upheld the child abuse charges against Trevor Merrill and Echo Nielsen after their son Kayson Merill died in 2006 from suffocating in their bed, according to The Daily Mail. Their 24-day-old daughter died the SAME exact way in 2006, but they obviously didn’t learn!

First District Court Judge Clint Judkins threw the book at a North Logan man accused of causing serious physical injury to a 3-year-old child. Brandon R. Nelson, 24, was sentenced Monday to a maximum of 30 years in the Utah State Prison.

Judkins said that although when Nelson left the courtroom, he would no longer have any jurisdiction over him, the parole board would seek the judge’s input.

“And I will recommend you serve every single day of that 30-year sentence,” Judkins said to Nelson. (more…)
