Child abuse rates climb

Figures in a national report show Tasmania has the highest rates of child abuse in the country, after the Northern Territory.
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s report found Tasmania had the second highest rate of children on protection orders over the past five years.
The report’s statistics estimated that 100 children in every 1,000 needed protection over the survey period. (more…)
