Manzo later took the baby to the Bellevue Medical Center, where doctors treated him for burns.

Doctors told deputies the boy had a broken leg, several broken ribs and bruising on his upper extremities. They found evidence of past bruising on the baby.

Coleman is a convicted sex offender who is awaiting trial in Washington County on drug and other charges.

Manzo, 26, also has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor child abuse and was sentenced last month to one year in prison. Authorities said the boy, now 16 months old, is living with a foster family and doing well.
