Police have charged a former head of a Western Australian primary school with child sex offences.
It is alleged the 53-year-old man from the Peel District, south of Perth, sexually assaulted a boy aged under 16 over several months in 1997. He was stood down by the school last year when police from the child abuse squad began investigating the case.
He has been charged with seven counts of Indecent Dealing with a Child and nine counts of Sexually Penetrating a Child Under 16 years of age.
The man will appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday, 7 June.
