Performing Arts teacher, Thomas Goodey, 27, has been put in jail for sexual offences after getting arrested for meeting his victims through an online dating app.
One of the victims confessed Goodey took him to a hotel room, where he gave the minor vodka and carried out sexual acts. The other victim told the Portsmoth Crown Court Goodey invited him to his mother’s house while she was away, and had their sexual encounter there.
The school teacher from the Isle of Wight was jailed for four years after admitting six other offences. The school said the teacher was dismissed after the allegations emerged.
The court read a statement by one of the boys where he said “My life has suffered. I have been unhappy, less patient and I have issues with trusting people”.
During the hearing, Judge David Melville QC told the abuser: “You should have said no. You weakened when you should have resisted.”
As well as his days in jail, the judge imposed a sexual harm prevention order and placed Goodey on the sex offender’s register.
