A caretaker who systematically abused numerous young boys over a 30-year period has been branded a “depraved, predatory” paedophile and jailed for 13-and-a-half years.

Austin Kelly, 69, of Staffordshire Close in Everton, Liverpool, pleaded guilty to 53 counts of indecent assault, buggery and attempted buggery against nine boys under the age of 16 between 1969 and 1997. (more…)

A MAN accused of sexually abusing a child told a jury he is not a paedophile.

Kieran Huelin, aged 28, denies engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child and sexual activity with a child.

Bolton Crown Court previously heard Huelin and his girlfriend, Laura Crank, invited youngsters to their flat and gave them drink and drugs before sexually assaulting them. (more…)

A member of an alleged Greater Manchester child-abuse ring told his teenage victims to supply him with even younger girls, a court heard.

The witness, who cannot be identified, was giving evidence in the trial of 11 men accused of being part of a sexual exploitation ring operating in and around Rochdale, in 2008 and 2009.

Kabeer Hassan, 24, Abdul Aziz, 41, Abdul Rauf, 43, Mohammed Sajid, 35, Adil Khan, 42, Abdul Qayyum, 43, Mohammed Amin, 44, Qamar Shahzad, 29, Liaquat Shah, 41, and Hamid Safi, 22, have all pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to engage in sexual activity with a child under 16. (more…)

A PEDOPHILE who broke into a Brisbane family’s home, stripped naked and molested a three-year-old girl and took indecent photographs of the toddler as she slept has received a combined jail term of effectively eight years.

The Brisbane District Court was told Craig Anthony Ellis broke into the family’s Aspley home on Brisbane’s northside and sexually assaulted the toddler on January 21, 2009.

Ellis, then aged 29, tried to flee when the girl’s parents were awoken by their daughter’s muffled cries – resulting in the toddler’s father crash tackling the naked intruder while the mother struck the pedophile with an ornamental samurai sword. (more…)

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Prosecutors seeking to convict four Roman Catholic priests in a pedophilia case want to use evidence of other sex-assault complaints and priest transfers in the Philadelphia archdiocese.

Prosecutors filed a motion Friday to include relevant conduct at the high-profile trial, which is scheduled for March.

Sixty-year-old Monsignor William Lynn is the first U.S. church official charged with child endangerment for allegedly transferring predator priests so they could abuse new victims. (more…)

AN alleged pedophile charged with committing 99 sex offences against a young girl, including child prostitution and producing child pornography, has been granted bail.

Richard Paul Baxter, 63, is the third person in three weeks to face court over the eight years of alleged abuse endured by the girl at a property in Brisbane’s southern suburbs, which police say ended only last month.

Mr Baxter was arrested on Monday and charged with 94 counts of indecent treatment of a child, four counts of obtaining prostitution and one count of making child exploitation material since 2004. (more…)

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Aug. 25 (UPI) — Swedish investigators say an accused pedophile may have contacted hundreds of children through the Internet.

Police are asking the public for help in identifying potential victims of the 41-year-old man who has been in custody since April, accused of five counts of sexual assault and 13 counts of sexual molestation, the Swedish news service TT reported Thursday. (more…)

On Sunday, a group of protesters gathered at the Wat Dhammaram Theravada Buddhist temple, Southwest Side Chicago, after a report that a former monk at the temple, Camong Boa-Ubol, had sexually assaulted two girls, impregnating one of them.

According to the report, the family of one of the girls–a 12 year-old–reported the incident to the Wat Dhammaram temple in 2000. The family was told that the monk would be returned to Thailand but it soon became known that the pedophile monk is still serving in Wat Buddhavipassana in Long Beach, California, where it is alleged that he still has access to young children.
